Government slashes red tape and tariffs to give businesses breathing space – Small Business Britiain response
Michelle Ovens CBE, CEO and founder of Small Business Britain, said: “The government’s acceptance of all 15 recommendations from the Small Business Regulatory Taskforce is a welcome step towards making regulation work better for small businesses.
Small business owners should be spending their time running their businesses and looking for the next opportunity to expand, but at the moment many hours a week are spent dealing with admin that is both a time drain and a blocker to growth and ambition, via systems not fit for purpose.
The priority now is turning these commitments into practical changes that reduce unnecessary administration, give business owners greater clarity and confidence and allow them to focus on what they do best – creating jobs, serving their communities and contributing to the UK economy.”
