Growth Street appoints Gareth Pritchard business development manager for Wales and south west
Alternative finance specialist Growth Street has announced the appointment of Gareth Pritchard as the firm’s first business development manager covering Wales and the south west of England.
Gareth has been embedded in the Welsh SME community for almost 20 years, predominantly within the SME division of Lloyds Bank. Gareth joined the bank’s apprenticeship scheme in 2001, progressing through to senior roles in the SME Global Transaction Banking Division.
Based in Cardiff, Gareth’s remit will extend across Wales and into the south west of England, areas in which Growth Street has already completed several deals.
Gareth will be educating his market on Growth Street’s flagship business finance product, GrowthLine. GrowthLine works much like a traditional overdraft: within businesses’ limits, they can draw down funds and make repayments as often as they like in a given month.
Gareth Pritchard, Growth Street business development manager, said: “With the big banks having retreated from high streets around the country in recent years, there is a real opportunity for alternative finance providers to make a difference to SMEs looking for support in delivering on their plans for growth.
“Growth Street understands the challenges faced by SMEs in Wales and the south west. I’m passionate about helping businesses in the region understand their options when it comes to finance, and I’m delighted to have started working at a company with big ambitions for the future.”
Julie Ashmore, Growth Street Commercial Director, said: “We’re delighted to have welcomed Gareth into the business. His experience will help us as we continue to build out our UK-wide team.
“I want us to continue building relationships in industrial hubs around the country. Gareth’s experience will help us spread the word to more businesses and increase awareness of alternative finance options more generally.”
