HSBC launches Touch ID Log On for business customers in the UK
HSBC business customers in the UK can now benefit from Touch ID to gain quicker and easier access to their account and balance information through the HSBCnet Mobile app.
The Touch ID feature uses a recognised fingerprint instead of passwords and is quick and easy to setup. The service is now available for UK businesses using the HSBCnet mobile app, before the service is expanded to include business internet banking mobile customers in 2017.
The launch of Touch ID follows the recent introduction of ‘selfie’ ID account opening verificiation for UK businesses. The service simplifies the way UK businesses are able to open an account by allowing ID verification to be securely completed using a ‘selfie’ on a mobile device.
Frances Howell, HSBC UK head of global liquidity and cash management, said:
“Our business customers are increasingly using their mobile devices to access their account information and transact. This is part of a broader shift in consumer behaviour towards digital services, where speed and simplicity is paramount.
“The launch of Touch ID represents an important step towards biometric banking and brings the benefits of more secure and more convenient mobile banking services to our business customers.”
Touch ID is compatible with Apple mobile devices and will also be made available to Android mobile users in the new year.
