ING appoints Robert Spruijt as EMEA head of sustainable finance
ING Wholesale Banking has appointed Robert Spruijt as EMEA head of sustainable finance, reporting to Leonie Schreve, global head of sustainable finance. In his new role, Robert will be responsible for growing the sustainable finance business for existing and new clients within the region.
In 2016, Robert joined ING as energy sector director where he originated, structured and arranged corporate acquisition, holdco- and project financings for LNG import, retail, storage, pipelines, petrochemical and gas processing clients.
Robert started his career at Rabobank in the in sustainable finance business for over 10 years in Europe and Asia, including renewable energy financing, financing water projects and carbon & energy derivatives. Together with a local team, Robert established the renewable energy finance business for Rabobank in the Asia. After returning to Europe, Robert worked in developing structured solutions for clients including innovative transactions for water projects.
