ING expands Private Banking footprint in Europe with launches in Spain and Italy
ING is expanding its Private Banking offering in Europe with launches in Spain and Italy, extending its presence beyond the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Poland. The expansion supports ING’s ambition to grow in Private Banking, Wealth Management and Investments and to help Get Europe Invested.
The new propositions in Spain and Italy are aimed at clients with financial assets of €500,000 or more and combine ING’s digital capabilities with personalised advice and access to investment expertise. Both build on ING’s established Private Banking presence and investment capabilities across Europe, while being tailored to the specific needs of clients in each local market.
Building on strong positions in Spain and Italy
In Spain, ING is launching from an existing base of more than 6,000 clients in the segment. The proposition is supported by 35 private bankers and more than 50 specialists across products, customer experience and technology. Clients can choose how they manage their wealth, from investing independently to receiving personalised investment advice or discretionary portfolio management.
In Italy, the launch forms part of ING’s broader growth strategy in the country. ING currently has around 40 private bankers. The proposition will progressively include advanced advisory services and access to private markets, alongside broader wealth management solutions.
Combining European scale with local expertise
The expansion builds on more than three decades of Private Banking experience within ING and the Group’s broader investment capabilities. ING currently provides investment services to more than five million clients, with more than €300bn in assets under management and brokerage.
The Group’s international scale allows ING to share technology, investment expertise and solutions across markets while adapting its propositions to local client needs and regulatory requirements.
Supporting ING’s ambition to Get Europe Invested
“We see significant opportunities to grow Private Banking, Wealth Management and Investments across Europe. Expanding our Private Banking offering in Spain and Italy is an important step in that ambition and supports our goal to Get Europe Invested.
By combining the scale, technology and investment expertise we have built across ING with strong local teams, we can give more clients access to personalised support while allowing them to choose how and when they engage with us.” Said Anneka Treon, global head of Private Banking, Wealth Management & Investments at ING.
Digital when possible, personal when it matters
ING’s approach combines digital convenience with access to human expertise when clients need it. In both Spain and Italy, clients can benefit from the Group’s broader investment capabilities while receiving a proposition designed around the characteristics of the local market.
