ING ushers in a new phase of growth in Spain with the opening of its flagship store in Madrid
ING has inaugurated its new flagship in Madrid, a space that reflects the evolution of the bank in Spain, where it now serves more than four million customers and has established itself as the country’s most recommended bank.
The opening marks a new milestone in ING’s ambition to continue expanding the ways it supports customers across all their financial needs.

The new premises, owned by Inbest GPF SOCIMI, are located at Paseo de la Castellana 2, in the heart of Plaza de Colón. The flagship offers 1,820 square metres across four floors and a rooftop terrace, making it ING’s largest branch in Spain.
The ING flagship will serve retail, private banking, business banking and corporate clients. It has been created to meet increasingly diverse financial needs and reflects ING’s transformation in Spain, where the bank has evolved from a savings-focused institution into a bank for everything and everyone.
It also mirrors ING’s current growth momentum. The bank plans to launch its private banking proposition in the coming weeks and its business banking segment during 2027.
The new branch brings ING’s digital DNA into the physical world. Designed to combine technology with expert advice, it will offer customers a more personalised and closer banking experience. ING expects to welcome around 800 visitors per day and will provide access to specialised retail and private banking teams, supporting customers at the most important financial moments in their lives.
“Banking is evolving, and customers increasingly expect to combine the convenience of digital services with access to expert advice whenever they need it. This flagship has been designed precisely to respond to that new reality and reflects the journey ING has made in Spain over recent years: becoming a more complete bank, capable of supporting customers across all their financial needs through a proposition that is simple, agile and people-centred,” said Alfonso Tolcheff, CEO of ING in Spain and Portugal.
A vibrant space
Coinciding with the 15th anniversary of the opening of its first branch in Spain, ING is unveiling a space designed to go beyond traditional banking activity.
Built around principles of innovation and sustainability, the flagship aims to become an open, dynamic and city-connected destination where customers and visitors can enjoy unique experiences.
Art plays a central role in the project as a way to inspire, spark conversation and help shape identity. To that end, ING has partnered with CAN (Contemporary Art Now), transforming the branch into a living cultural space focused on emerging artists and rotating exhibitions.
Through this collaboration, the bank reinforces its commitment to bringing contemporary art closer to new audiences and integrating artistic expression into the overall experience of the space.
