Just Mortgages promotes John Doughty to chapter managing director role
National brokerage Just Mortgages has promoted longstanding financial services director John Doughty to the position of managing director for the employed Orion chapter.
The new role will see John working closely with more than 90 members of staff – including almost 60 brokers in the chapter, while also liaising with the Spicerhaart estate agency chains. In addition to helping brokers with their day-to-day activities, John will also support them in accessing high-level training and mentoring, as well as exploring progression opportunities.
Alongside his new duties, John will continue to be involved in Just Mortgages New Build. He is perhaps best known for his most recent role as financial services director for the division, working alongside Paul Wilson. Together, the pair has helped grow the division from strength to strength, tripling broker numbers to 28 in just four years.
John brings with him almost two decades’ experience across estate agency, mortgages and financial services, including 13-and-a-half years with Spicerhaart and Just Mortgages. John joined the team in 2008 as a mortgage consultant based in Weston-super-Mare and Taunton. Since then, he has served as a divisional sales manager and director for Wales and the west of England, before joining the new build division.
John succeeds Tommy Taylor in the role, who stays with the Spicerhaart family as estate agency managing director. John will continue to work closely with both Tommy and fellow chapter managing director Duncan Jones.

In addition to its employed division, Just Mortgages has almost 500 brokers working on a self-employed basis. In total, Just Mortgages has more than 650 brokers across the country, helping clients with all their financial needs.
