KPMG announces appointment of 102 new directors
KPMG has announced the promotion of 102 directors. Combined, this takes the total number of directors in the firm to 871 – a 13% increase on director numbers from 2013. KPMG has a staff (including around 600 partners) of approximately 11,500.
Colm Coffey, UK head of people at KPMG, commented: “We are focussed on growing our business at the top and bottom line and this year’s director promotions are designed to help deliver this. We have promoted directors across our business but have promoted the largest number in audit, reflecting the tremendous success we have enjoyed in securing high profile tenders such as Unilever and, most recently, Royal Mail. Accordingly, a fifth of our newly promoted directors are audit specialists. Across the full spectrum of audit, tax and advisory services such as M&A and strategy, I am confident that this year’s director promotions further strengthens our position to address the business issues and opportunities our clients want to tackle most.
“I am pleased that a third of our new directors are women, with the total number of female directors now making up around 25% of the group. The ratio of female directors is also a positive sign for the future make up of our partnership; which currently stands at 15% women. But we recognise that we need to do more. We need to ensure we pull down the barriers that prevent anyone from fulfilling their potential and reaching the highest levels of our business. Ensuring we reflect the society in which we operate is not only the right thing to do but is essential to maximising the potential of our business.”
