Liverpool dentist acquires fourth property in Old Swan as part of ambitious expansion plans
The building was previously occupied by John Lane’s Dental Practice, a fully private practice established in 1966, located approximately three miles east of Liverpool city centre in an area of mixed commercial and residential uses. The property was owned by Dr John Lane who had been in occupation since 1986 and decided to sell as part of his well-earned retirement plans.
The freehold interest of John’s Lane Dental Practice has been purchased by Dr Stuart Garton, who is the owner of a 10-treatment room practice positioned directly next door called The Dental House.
Dr Garton comments, “I opened my first practice in April 2015, having bought the two-treatment room NHS Practice at 10 Derby Lane next door. Over the last five years, we have grown to occupy the adjacent buildings at 6 and 8 Derby Lane and all of these premises have undergone extensive renovation and modernisation.
“We have some incredible plans for the newly acquired property, with a vision to create a small high-end boutique private clinic, combining incredible patient experience with the very best clinical care.”
Olivia Allison, business agent at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “I am thrilled to have helped John with the sale of his property. As Stuart was the neighbouring Principal, he was an ideal purchaser.
“We sold Stuart 6 Derby Lane in 2016, which has given the practice a real monopoly position in Old Swan. We wish him all the best with his new acquisition and can’t wait to see how he transforms the business.
“Whilst this is definitely a unique buyer situation, we are seeing a considerable amount of interest in fully private practices at the moment which shows a real strength in the dental market.”
The freehold interest of 12 Derby Lane was sold at an undisclosed price.
