London towers scheme boosts contractor into top league spot
McLaren secured its first top spot in 18 months in the contractors’ league table for December 2022 thanks to work including a £90m south London tower job.
The project to build three towers in the new Leon Quarter in Croydon was one of four secured by the contractor in December, according to data gathered by construction intelligence provider Glenigan.
Some 357 apartments will be provided across the three separate blocks, which will stand at 31, 20 and 6 storeys. The scheme will also include 12,900 square feet of commercial space and the creation of a new public square. The project was given planning permission in August.
McLaren also landed work in the thriving warehouse sector, securing a £54m job to build four industrial units near Leeds, measuring 60,000 square metres in total.
Work has already begun at the site and McLaren expects to complete the job by the end of 2023.
