Major hire expands RSM’s restructuring advisory capability in the East Midlands
Leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has appointed Tyrone Courtman as a partner to grow and strengthen the firm’s restructuring advisory capability in the East Midlands region.
The appointment also marks another step in the firms bid to expand its already leading national network of restructuring practitioners.
As ICAEW’s regional lead and a senior member of the Turnaround Management Association, Tyrone has built up a high profile within the local business community. RSM’s ambitions to offer the region’s leading restructuring advisory, and to strengthen its position as the first-choice adviser to the region’s middle market will benefit from Tyrone’s reputation.
Tyrone will be based out of RSM’s Leicester and Nottingham offices, working across the East Midlands. He adds to the firm’s two new corporate tax partner hires in the region, Simon Browning and Michael McLaughlin.
With more than 30 years’ experience, Tyrone specialises in business rescue and performance improvement, turnaround without recourse to formal insolvency procedures, business refinance, debt advisory and accelerated mergers and acquisitions. His sector experience spans manufacturing, real estate and construction, transport and logistics, professional services, healthcare, and retail.
Tyrone Courtman said: ‘I’m delighted to join RSM. The obvious strengths of the business both at a regional and national level are what attracted me. It is also encouraging to see the firm’s confidence and commitment to growth during this uncertain period. I look forward to working with my new colleagues and clients.’
Adrian Allen, partner at RSM in Nottingham, said: ‘We’re delighted to bring Tyrone on board. His appointment will assist us in growing our Midlands and national restructuring advisory business. Tyrone’s strong profile and extensive experience working with the business community and considerable knowledge of multiple sectors will enhance our restructuring business proposition considerably.’
Kevin Harris, office managing partner for RSM in Leicester, said: ‘I’m thrilled to see Tyrone join the firm. I know his experience and reputation will benefit a lot of what we are trying to do for our clients here in the East Midlands. This is also a tremendously challenging time for businesses across the region, and I’m confident that Tyrone will play a massive role in supporting RSM’s clients through the ongoing crisis and beyond.’
