Mayer Brown adds structured finance lawyer Ronan Mellon to banking & finance practice
Mayer Brown announced today that senior structured finance lawyer Ronan Mellon has been appointed as a partner in the firm’s banking & finance practice in London. He joins from DLA Piper, where he has been a partner for eight years.
“Ronan’s considerable experience will perfectly complement our UK and US structured finance practice,” said Alex Dell, co-head of the global Banking & Finance practice at Mayer Brown. “Ronan has established an outstanding reputation in the ABS and CLO markets and has a deep understanding of our financial institutions and private credit client base.”
Ronan represents issuers, arrangers, investment managers and investors in a range of complex finance transactions. He has a broad structured finance, securitisation and debt capital markets practice, which includes European and US collateralised loan obligations, covered bonds, credit linked notes, repackagings, derivatives and emerging market bonds. He also advises on project finance-related transactions, including project bonds, note issuances, private placements and hybrid structures for both wrapped and unwrapped deals.
During his career, Ronan has worked for three leading international law firms and completed secondments at three investment banks.
“I have known Ronan for many years, including as a colleague at a previous law firm and I appreciate his skill as a great securitisation lawyer and client developer,” added Dominic Griffiths, Mayer Brown’s London managing partner. “Ronan’s appointment furthers our investment commitment in London to our market-leading banking and finance capabilities, and strengthens our global offering to institutional clients.”
