Mazars ranked 6th in Top 100 apprenticeship employers for 2020
Mazars, the international tax, audit and advisory firm, has been ranked as one of the top ten apprenticeship employers in the UK by the National Apprenticeship Service, part of the government’s Education and Skills Funding Agency.
The annual Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers rankings celebrate the nation’s most outstanding apprenticeship employers, recognising those which offer people of all ages and backgrounds a chance to kick start their career. This year, the list features employers from industries spanning engineering, banking, healthcare, retailing, local government, accountancy and the charity sector. The rankings reflect each employers’ overall commitment to employing apprentices, the creation of new apprenticeships, the diversity of new apprentices, and their subsequent career opportunities.
Miranda Smith, head of professional development at Mazars, said: “This is a great achievement for Mazars, and the timing could not be better. We have just launched a global rebrand, and giving opportunities to a diverse, empowered workforce is at the core of who we are. We are totally committed to recruiting and supporting talented people from all backgrounds, and our apprenticeship programme is an extremely important part of our overall strategy. The recognition is fantastic: it shows that we’re heading in the right direction and it gives us even more motivation to support our team members with the highest standard of learning and development opportunities.
“Each year we have a group of enthusiastic and ambitious school leavers, graduates and existing team members join our apprenticeship programme, and they make a meaningful contribution to the business from day one. Apprenticeships allow a professional firm like Mazars to recruit from a diverse talent pool, and it gives us the framework to support our apprentices with a clear, structured and comprehensive programme throughout their professional development journey.
“Getting young people into work in the current climate is vitally important, and a well-structured apprenticeship programme provides an apprentice with a balanced approach to building the important knowledge, skills and behaviours required to build an exciting career for themselves.”
Laura Madon, a technology consulting and assurance junior consultant apprentice, added: “Before starting with Mazars, I never knew how seamless the integration of a Masters degree could be with a full time job. This apprenticeship has allowed me to start the career I have always wanted, whilst continuing my academic study by improving my expertise in Applied Data Analytics. The support from Mazars has been crucial, from helping us to start the course with a great work from home setup, to helping us with assignment research. I would recommend this path to anyone interested in combining continued study with their desired career.”
