More than 200 intermediaries attend Hodge holiday let webinar
More than 200 brokers and IFAs attended a Hodge webinar which provided insight into the holiday let market and offered guidance as to how to make the most of the current growth in staycations.
The webinar, which covered topics such as stamp duty savings and tax benefits, was the most well attended webinar Hodge has held in 2020.
Hodge business development managers Bradley Street and James Enos led the webinar, informing attendees about the current market trends and how the pandemic has provided an unprecedented boost for the sector.
They were joined by Mark and Joe Stallard of House and Holiday Home Mortgages, as well as John Endacott, Tax Partner for PKF Francis Clark.
Mark and Joe with their many years’ experience in the holiday let sector, gave expert insight into the market, including attractive property types and locations, as well as advising how intermediaries can help clients access and take advantage of the current boom. John Endacott, partner and head of tax at PKF – Francis Clark also joined the webinar and explained how clients can take advantage of the tax benefits offered by owning a holiday let.
Emma Graham, business development director for Hodge, said: “More than 400 intermediaries initially registered for the event, which just shows how interest in the holiday let market has shifted in the past 12 months.
“Covid 19 has led to a surge in this market, as more and more people decide to stay in the UK for their holidays. Consequently, the demand for holiday homes and therefore holiday let mortgages has increased substantially.”
Emma added: “We were so pleased that we could assemble such an expert panel for our intermediary attendees. It meant that those who attended had access to the most up to date advice. In fact, one attendee remarked that the webinar featured ‘totally relevant content and was the best of 2020’.”
Hodge also held the six CPD-accredited webinars during the summer covering everything from an overview on the lending market during a pandemic, to Equity Release and RIO. All Hodge webinars are available to download here: https://hodgebank.co.uk/intermediaries/webinars/
