New bill design from npower gives small businesses at-a-glance clarity over energy
Small and medium business customers with npower will soon benefit from new, simpler billing for their electricity.
Providing at-a-glance visibility of account balances, payments and charges, the new design makes managing energy easier than ever for npower’s business customers. The new bill incorporates design elements such as colour-coding, sign-posting and itemised groupings to provide our SME customers with the information they need in the clearest way yet.
Key features include:
– Balance, payments and charges have been given a prime location on the bill as the information customers most need to see at-a-glance
– Important account information such as the customer account number has been given greater prominence for ease of reference
– Unnecessary and confusing information such as walksort numbers have been removed to de-clutter the page
– The giro slip is now only sent to customers who require one and is provided as a separate slip of paper to avoid tearing
Research by npower into customer opinion showed customers to be overwhelmingly in favour of the new design. 84% of our small business customers stated that they were in favour of the new bill, compared to the just 16% who preferred the previous design.
Importantly, our research with SME customers indicated that this kind of approach to billing and information will help small business actively engage in managing their energy with their energy supplier. In fact, nearly half (44%) of respondents stated that the new bill positively impacts their perceptions of npower as a more modern, customer-focused company.
Phil Scholes, SME markets director at npower commented: “npower’s sole objective is to build our business around our customers’. We do that by listening to them and providing common sense and innovation in the products and services we offer. Our new bill design is a great example of that – we know our customers want clarity and certainty, and the new bill makes those things crystal clear.”
npower has plans to launch a new gas bill toward the end of 2014.
