NHS dental practice in North Lanarkshire town sold to first-time buyer
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Bank Street Dental Care in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire.
Founded in the 1950s, Bank Street Dental Care is a well-established four-surgery NHS dental practice with circa 6,000 registered patients. It is centrally located in Coatbridge, just eight miles from Glasgow.
The practice has been owned by Patrick Quinn since 2008 and was brought to market as a retirement sale.
Following a confidential sales process with Kevin Strain at Christie & Co, and with funding sourced through Stephen McConalogue at Christie Finance, it has been sold to first-time buyer, Dr Anastasios Mellios.
Dr Anastasios Mellios, new owner of Bank Street Dental Care, comments, “Bank Street Dental Care appealed to me because of its strong NHS patient base, established four-surgery setup, and clear potential for future growth. Its location close to Glasgow and the opportunity to further develop the practice through enhanced marketing made it an excellent fit for my plans. I am excited to build on the practice’s success while continuing to provide high-quality patient care.”
Kevin Strain, senior business agent – dental at Christie & Co, comments, “Bank Street Dental Care is a very attractive four-surgery practice that generated excellent levels of interest from both independent buyers and group operators, reflecting the continued demand for high-quality dental practices across Scotland. Patrick Quinn has built a fantastic practice with a strong reputation in Coatbridge, making it an outstanding acquisition opportunity. It was a pleasure to act on Patrick’s behalf throughout the transaction, and we’re delighted to have secured a successful sale to Tasos. We wish both Patrick and Tasos every success for the future as they embark on their respective next chapters.”
Stephen McConalogue – associate director, Christie Finance, comments, “It was a pleasure to arrange the finance for Anastasios – also great collaboration with Kevin from Christie & Co – a real team effort. The lending market continues to be extremely competitive for first time buyers or existing operators looking to grow their portfolios. This has helped all buyers as lenders have changed their offering several times over 2026, to be the ‘go to bank’ within the sector.”
Bank Street Dental Care was sold for an undisclosed price.
