Rare political consensus in run-up to NACFB’s Commercial Finance Expo
Amongst the debate between rival political parties right now, one thing everyone agrees on is that the economy needs to grow. Favourable tax terms and targeted public sector spending may be part of the answer, but most of all, money needs to be flowing from lenders to small businesses.
Our Commercial Finance Expo is a clear demonstration of the power of lending. More than one hundred lenders to the SME community will be gathered under a single roof, in the centre of England, at the Birmingham NEC on 17 June.
This is a one-of-a-kind event that showcases the amount of funding that is actually available to businesses right across the country. While the politicians are all asking for more lending to business, we at the NACFB are getting on and making it happen.
All exhibitor stands are now sold out for the sixth Commercial Finance Expo with a little over two months to go before doors open at the Pavilion. The NACFB has been working on expanding the floor space outwards – and upwards – to accommodate demand. There are now 120 lenders registered with the NACFB for the first time in the Association’s history, and last year more than 1300 visitors turned up on the day.
This goes some way to explain why, for the first time, we’ve had to build upwards as well as outwards, with a two-storey stand and a double-decker bus putting that extra level into the Pavilion hall. We also have a full-size Conference Theatre. There is a great deal for us to discuss as regulation starts to hit home for a majority of our members, and of course, the general election will still be fresh in the minds of the audience.
This event is open to anyone with an interest in Commercial Finance. One of the NACFB’s goals for 2015 is to promote the availability of lending to small business owners, and to spread the word that all of our lenders are active in their market.
Doors for this biggest industry event of the year open at 9:30am on Wednesday 17th June. As every year, there’s no fee to attend. This is a free event where deals get done and genuinely useful contacts get made … and it’s also a lot of fun.
