RBS Invoice Finance Annual Charity Dinner raises £12k
A recent charity fundraising dinner hosted by RBS Invoice Finance has raised £12k for Macmillan Cancer Support and ‘Give a Duck’ part of Candlelighters, Yorkshire’s Children’s Cancer Charity.
The event, which was held at The Queens Hotel in Leeds on Thursday 9th July was organised by staff from RBS Invoice Finance Leeds and Manchester offices. Over 200 people from across the Yorkshire and Lancashire business community attended the event which was compéred by Sky Sports presenter Pete Graves. Comedian Pete Emmett also entertained guests on the evening.
Laura Spooner, partnerships manager at Macmillan Cancer Support said: “I would like to say a big thank you on behalf of everyone at Macmillan. We are very grateful to RBS Invoice Finance and everyone that supported the Charity fundraising dinner on Thursday evening. It was a really wonderful event and to raise £12k is incredible and will make a massive difference to the lives of people living with cancer across the UK. Macmillan want to make sure that no one has to face cancer alone and thanks to RBS Invoice Finance, we are one step closer to this goal.”
Kate Goldring, fundraising manager at Candlelighters said: “We were so pleased to be supported by this prestigious event. One of the families Candlelighters supports were the driving force behind this, as they are the driving force behind the ‘Give A Duck’ initiative. Candlelighters provide support to families coping with childhood cancer across our region and without the support of events like this we simply wouldn’t be here.”
John Gribbon, regional managing director for RBS Invoice Finance in the North added: “We are delighted this year to be supporting Macmillan and ‘Give a Duck’ part of Candlelighters, Yorkshire’s Children’s Cancer Charity. It was a brilliant evening and we would like to thank everyone involved for their support.
“There are many worthy charities out there, but these two always seem to resonate and pull on the heartstrings of so many of us. Both charities carry out such incredible work for people with cancer across our region and I am pleased that we have been able to support their efforts. This is the fifth year we have organised the dinner and brings the total raised for different charities over the last five years to £75k.”
