Record amount raised at Arbuthnot Latham’s annual Bobby Moore charity dinner
The fifth annual Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK dinner, hosted by Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Limited, the private and commercial banking and wealth management arm of the Arbuthnot Banking Group PLC, broke its existing record when it raised £29k for the charity at its recent event.
Stephanie Moore, wife of the late Bobby Moore, OBE, was joined at Arbuthnot Latham’s London HQ by 1966 World Cup hat trick hero, Sir Geoff Hurst, who entertained guests with his ‘best ever England XI’ followed by an enlightening Q & A session.
Arbuthnot Latham’s senior private banker, James West, who helped organise the event, said:
“It was an absolute pleasure for Arbuthnot Latham to host its fifth annual dinner for the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK which raises funds to fight bowel cancer, a disease that tragically took Bobby Moore’s life in 1993 and a charity that Stephanie Moore works tirelessly to raise much needed funds.
“It was a delight to welcome Sir Geoff Hurst as our guest speaker and it was no coincidence that his attendance helped us raise a record £29k on the night.”
Stephen Fletcher, Arbuthnot Latham’s head of commercial banking hosted the charity dinner which also included a silent auction where the funds raised will help support high-quality bowel cancer research undertaken by leading scientists working across the UK.
