Rees Pollock becomes Blick Rothenberg
Founded in 1990, Rees Pollock has today officially become the Financial Services team at leading tax and advisory firm Blick Rothenberg, and the Rees Pollock name will now longer be used.
Phil Vipond, head of financial services at Blick Rothenberg said: “Rees Pollock was set up in 1990 and soon carved out a niche for itself in the hedge fund industry and with other financial services clients who were looking for a firm combining technical excellence with a personal, partner-led service.”
Phil added: “Rees Pollock was recognised as the leading auditor outside the ‘Big 4’ for the financial services sector and grew to have over 60 fee earners, acting for around 200 regulated clients and has trained dozens of graduates, many of whom continue work in the industry today.”
Phil said: “In September 2019 we joined Blick Rothenberg, and the time now seems right to relinquish our former name, and we are proud to be part of this successful business which shares the same values and culture, as well as desire for future growth.
“Our name may have changed but we will be providing the same client driven service through our team which has served us so well, whilst being able to call on the wider expertise and support of the Blick Rothenberg team.”
Nimesh Shah, CEO at Blick Rothenberg said: “18 months ago, Blick Rothenberg was delighted to acquire Rees Pollock. The Rees Pollock business was a perfect fit in so many ways, and the team’s expertise in working with financial services clients strongly complemented the Blick Rothenberg practice.”
He added: “ Having worked closely with the Rees Pollock team, a year of which has sadly been in lockdown, the cultural fit of the people has been the single most important aspect. it’s been a pleasure to so easily work with a like-minded group of people, and it has allowed the combined firms to bring powerful new opportunities for our people and clients.”
Nimesh said: “I am pleased to have recently welcomed the Rees Pollock team to our Great Queen Street office, and the physical integration will bring our teams even closer together, as we start our return to the office in a more meaningful way over the forthcoming months.
“Whilst we today depart from the Rees Pollock brand, we will continue to remember the history of the firm, which has an important role in the future of Blick Rothenberg. I may be a traditionalist, but the history of our journey is the foundational success of our future.”
