RSM advises on successful sale of Spotlight toTalent Systems LLC
RSM’s corporate finance team has successfully advised Spotlight on its sale to Talent Systems LLC, a global casting technology solutions provider. RSM’s support included M&A advice as well as the production of a financial factbook.
Founded in 1927, Spotlight has been a client of RSM for almost 80 years and has a long history as a family run business. It now sits within the Global Talent Systems group, which also includes Cast It Systems, Casting Frontier, Casting Networks and Modasphere. All companies will continue to run independently, while leveraging each other’s industry expertise and integrating the best technology.
The current CEO, Richard Wilson, and senior management team will be retained, and Ben Seale, former CEO and owner of Spotlight, will become an adviser to Talent Systems.
RSM’s national head of transactions Kirsty Sandwell led on the acquisition, supported by Natalie Ord, partner, mergers and acquisitions and John Price, partner, transaction services.
Kirsty Sandwell said: ‘We have enjoyed a long and successful relationship with Spotlight and we were delighted to support them on their sale. This acquisition connects Spotlight and its members to a worldwide network of television, film and theatre opportunities, while helping it maintain its position as the home of casting for the UK and European market.’
Ben Seale, CEO of Spotlight said: ‘Kirsty and her team steered us through this process in the most spirited and compassionate way. They navigated the deal through the difficulties surrounding Covid-19, which was integral to the success of the transaction. RSM is a formidable team and knowing that they were always on the end of the phone meant so much to all the Spotlight team.’
