Shares in UK Healthcare Group sold to experienced care operator duo
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the share sale of the Limited company, UK Healthcare Group Ltd. The deal comprised multiple assets which were sold to a pair of experienced care operators. Funding for the sale was sourced through commercial finance specialist, Christie Finance.
The share sale included two registered Devon care homes, a property in the community, and four others the company was renting for its clients.
UK Healthcare Group Ltd brought the assets to market during 2020. Speaking on behalf of the company, Director, Sara O’Neill, comments, “Owning and running the services that comprise UK Healthcare Group has been both a pleasure and a privilege. We have been able to work with exceptional staff teams and support an amazing group of Service Users. The decision to sell our shares in the Company has not been an easy one but, having enabled our services to move positively through the last 12 months, we felt that it was now time to transfer the reigns of ownership.”
Simon Harvey, senior director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “Having originally sold the homes back in 2006, we are delighted to have assisted in the next phase of the ownership. So much has changed in the past 15 years and no doubt the business will continue to evolve under the new directors of the company who are experienced care homeowners and operators. This sale is further evidence of the appetite and interest that exists for specialist care businesses where, in the main, they have been far less impacted, especially from a trading perspective, by the pandemic and where the future shows strong demand continuing.”
John Mitchell, managing director at Christie Finance, who sourced funding for the sale, comments, “Despite an incredibly challenging year where many lenders were unable to consider lending for acquisition purposes, we were delighted to have been able to assist in the acquisition of UK Healthcare Group.”
The sale was supported by the seller’s lawyers at Stephens Scown LLP, and the buyers’ lawyer, Hazel Phillips of Royds Withy King.
The UK Healthcare Group Ltd assets were sold at an undisclosed price.
