Swillington Pharmacy near Leeds sold to first-time buyer couple in over £1m deal
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Swillington Pharmacy near Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Swillington Pharmacy is a high-performing community pharmacy which dispenses circa 11,000 items per month. The pharmacy sits unopposed in the village of Swillington near Leeds in West Yorkshire, and benefits from the local GP surgery being within walking distance.
The business was owned by Mr Darren and Mrs Lisa Kellett for over 20 years, and was brought to market to allow them to pursue a well-earned retirement.
Swillington Pharmacy has been purchased by first-time buyers, husband and wife Pharmacists, Mr Jeet and Mrs Yamini Vadodaria. The pair also bought the property freehold which includes a three-bed flat that could be renovated and let out to provide a supplementary income.
Jon Booth, associate director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “Despite launching Swillington Pharmacy to market at the very beginning of the pandemic, in Spring 2020, we were inundated with enquiries and received multiple offers. Pharmacies this close to Leeds with such strong item numbers and an unopposed position are extremely rare opportunities, hence the strong levels of interest.
“Our clients had owned the pharmacy for over 20 years and the business offered an excellent opportunity to the market, and one which appealed to a large range of buyer types. Ultimately, a deal was done shortly after the business came to market with the Vadodarias for whom this is their first venture into pharmacy ownership. We wish them the very best of luck with the future.”
Swillington Pharmacy was sold off an asking price of £1,100,000.
