ThinCats appoints Andy Hegedus as director of underwriting
ThinCats, the leading fintech lender to SMEs, has today announced the appointment of Andy Hegedus as director of underwriting, based in their head office, Ashby de la Zouch.
Andy brings a wealth of industry experience to ThinCats, having joined the commercial banking industry in 1979, working across both client-facing and internal roles. Andy joins from Barclays, where he spent 12 years in the SME credit team, supporting businesses with borrowing requirements up to £4m. For 16 years prior to this, Andy was an SME relationship manager for Barclays – a role in which he built a deep understanding of the needs and workings of small and medium businesses.
Andy said: “I am excited to be joining the prominent fintech business operating in the SME lending space. ThinCat’s pragmatic lending process and market-leading proprietary technology allows me to listen and react to the needs of small businesses, in a way that people can no longer do when they are constrained by the internal processes and red tape of the big banks.”
Damon Walford, chief development officer, ThinCats, said: “It is great to be in a position now where we can attract the banks’ top talent to join our ranks – Andy brings with him a huge amount of industry expertise and I have no doubt he will hit the ground running.
“Andy will work alongside our origination team and deal directly with national brokers, to shape and structure deals for SMEs across the country. Andy’s experience means he will take a leading role in the whole credit process, from initial enquiry through to deal completion.”
