ThinCats on the go with £4.25m funding for tour operator
Go Travelling Ltd, trading as On The Go Tours, global escorted group tour operator, has been supported with a £4.25m refinance package by leading alternative finance provider to mid-sized SMEs, ThinCats.
Established in 1999, On The Go Tours is an award-winning provider of global tours and tailor-made holidays, specialising in English speaking experience and adventure tours to over 60 destinations, with head-quarters in London and an office in Brisbane, Australia.
The company is best known for the Signature group tours to iconic sights and destinations around the world, as well as offering hand-picked experience holidays, tailor-made trips, family getaways and the Overland range of adventure tours.
On The Go Tours won ten prestigious awards at the internationally recognised British Travel Awards in 2020, including Best Escorted Adventure Travel Company for the second year running.
In 2018, PE firm Alcuin Capital Partners invested in the company.
Carl Cross, CEO, On the Go Tours: “As with all travel businesses, this past year has been challenging. However, we have taken the opportunity to develop our online capability and further enhance our offering. We are very much looking forward to getting back to what we are best at – taking our customers on authentic and accessible cultural experiences, and this funding puts us in a great position to do that.”
Neil Wilson, partner, Alcuin Capital Partners: “We are delighted to have completed this refinancing with Thincats. On The Go Tours is a great business operating in a market which has been incredibly difficult over the last year. With this funding in place, the business can now focus on the future as demand for international travel rebounds.”
Dave Sherrington, Regional Head of Sales, London, ThinCats: “The passion and expertise across the whole team at On The Go Tours was obvious from the start, and despite the indisputable difficulties with global travel over the past year, they have shown incredible resilience. We are very excited to see the company fly again once restrictions are lifted.”
