ThinCats provides further £4.6m funding for North of England-based care home operator
We Care Group, specialist care home provider, has been supported with a further £4.6m in acquisition funding from leading alternative lender to mid-sized SMEs, ThinCats.
Having first received funding from ThinCats in 2020 in respect of acquired homes, We Care Group has now acquired Flightcare Ltd, a group of seven nursing and care homes in Lancashire and Merseyside, with a total of 279 beds.
We Care Group acquired its first care home in 2007 and had built a group of 16 homes, providing 803 beds across the North and North West of England and employing more than 800 staff. The homes provide a range of care needs for both long term and respite periods including Nursing, Residential, Palliative, End of Life, Dementia, Bariatrics and Young Mental Health Care.
Wes Hodelin at MAF Healthcare, specialist healthcare broker, once again introduced the team at We Care Group to ThinCats to arrange the funding package.
Bernie Suresparan, founder, We Care Group: “This funding enables us to acquire a group of care homes with huge amounts of potential, and takes our service offering to over 1000 beds. This is a great milestone for the We Care Group, and we are delighted that ThinCats and MAF were able to support us once again.”
Wes Hodelin, director of Healthcare Finance, MAF Healthcare: “Working alongside the We Care Group and ThinCats has been a pleasure, and seeing We Care surpass 1000 beds is particularly satisfying. I look forward to working with both teams again in the near future”.
Richard Henshaw, director, National Development Healthcare, ThinCats: “It is particularly gratifying to be able to continue to support a business like We Care, with a strong management team and the capacity to deliver a very high quality and bespoke care package to their residents. We look forward to continuing to support more businesses like these across the healthcare sector.”
