Tudorville Express & Post Office sold to experienced retailer
Specialist business property advisor, Christie & Co has completed on the sale of Tudorville Express & Post Office, a freehold convenience store with a large three-bed owner’s flat located in the market town of Ross-on-Wye, with funding for the sale secured through Christie & Co’s sister company, Christie Finance.
Tudorville Express is situated on the Tudorville estate to the south of the town centre, along the B4234 – the main route south from Ross-on-Wye to the Forest of Dean and enjoys a steady mix of passing trade and local custom. With no immediate competition and ample parking, the well-established business was viewed as an ideal opportunity for a range of prospective buyers when it came to the market.
Jamie Williams, senior business agent in Christie & Co’s Retail team handled the sale and comments, “I’m delighted to have helped David and Maria with the sale of their business and I hope they enjoy their new home in South Wales. The demand for convenience stores and post offices has never been higher than we’ve seen so far in 2021, so I strongly urge anyone operating a similar business and considering a sale to get in touch, to discuss what your business could be worth and take advantage of the current market.”
The successful purchaser, Mr Mikey Cheema, is an experienced retailer from the West Midlands. Funding for Mr Cheema’s purchase of Tudorville Express was secured through retail finance specialist, Lawrence Roberts at Christie Finance.
Mr Cheema comments, “When I first contacted Christie & Co about this opportunity, I was pleased with the support and information that Jamie provided to us to ensure this store was the right decision for our family. Jamie then introduced me to Lawrence at Christie Finance, who ran through a range of options so that we could be confident in securing funding to purchase the business, and despite disruptions caused by Covid-19, he delivered a competitive funding package. We are now looking forward to the future and we thank both Lawrence and Jamie for their assistance in this purchase.”
Lawrence Roberts from Christie Finance adds, “It was a pleasure to support our clients on securing this purchase, especially during the challenging times we have all faced throughout the pandemic. I am thoroughly delighted for our clients, and I know they will continue to deliver an excellent service to the local community and those travelling to the area.”
The previous owners, Maria Thomas and her son David comment, “We wish success and prosperity to Mikey Cheema and his brother Amo. Their enthusiasm and dedication to their new business is a credit to them.
We also want to thank Jamie Williams, our estate agent with Christie & Co, who achieved this sale despite adverse conditions created by Covid slowing down the whole process. His constant positive approach is very much appreciated, and we wish him success in the future.”
