UK Finance responds to the chancellor’s Mansion House speech

Responding to the Chancellor Rishi Sunak’s speech this morning at Mansion House, David Postings, chief executive of UK Finance, said: “We strongly welcome the chancellor’s recognition of the work the banking and finance sector has done to help customers and the economy through the pandemic and into the recovery.

“The ambitious roadmap set out by the chancellor is an important document, putting financial services centre stage both domestically and abroad, to help deliver investment and innovation which benefits everyone in the UK, as well as ensuring the UK remains globally competitive.

“We will continue to work with HM Treasury, alongside the Bank of England and FCA, to deliver on the chancellor’s vision of the UK being the most trusted and competitive place to do business and an open and global financial services hub.”
